See you at Glitched

As part of the Play together against cancer initiative, the Swedish Cancer Society and Glitched are joining forces to organise Sweden’s largest LAN fundraising event in support of cancer research.

Glitched will take place from 13 to 16 June, when thousands of visitors are expected to gather at Elmia in Jönköping.

Throughout the weekend, we will team up with creators and gamers in a range of activities, both on site and online.

Stage challenges and shows will be mixed with raffles of gaming gear and a prize pool of products for those who raise the most money.

A new way to connect

This initiative is part of Play together against cancer, which aims to engage the global gaming community and game developers.

By building relationships with a new audience, we hope to raise awareness and increase fundraising for vital cancer research.

“Our vision is to beat cancer – so that fewer people fall ill, more people survive, and everyone living with cancer can have a long and good life. Partnering with Glitched is both exciting and important, and shows that the gaming industry can help make a real difference,” says Jeanette Sundin, Deputy Secretary-General and Head of Fundraising and Communications at the Swedish Cancer Society.

“We want to break records”

Glitched is a new LAN concept built around one key idea: reconnecting with the sense of community that once defined LAN culture.

With Play together against cancer, the initiative highlights how the gaming community has the power to create real change – and contribute to something bigger.

“The vision behind Glitched is to reconnect with the sense of community that once built LAN culture. That’s why teaming up with the Swedish Cancer Society feels extra special – bringing people together, gamers and beyond, in the fight against cancer. And together with the Swedish Cancer Society, we want to break new records – as a gaming and fundraising phenomenon,” says Tomas Lyckedal, co-founder of Glitched.

How you can join

During the weekend, visitors, participants and online followers will all be able to support us – through donations, personal fundraisers and live challenges. Every contribution helps fund life-saving research. Hope to see you at Glitched!
