Skydive for cancer awareness

Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page! The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. *Our jumps will occur on the 17th of June and are self-funded and so any money you donate will go directly to CancerFonden.* We are 2 friends with different background stories but who both believe in the importance of supporting the fight against cancer. Opening up on this topic is key to bring awareness on how cancer impacts most (if not all) the people we know one way or another. According to "World Cancer Day" website; "Cancer is the second-leading cause of death worldwide" (https://www.worldcancerday.org/what-cancer). So you can imagine the impact of contributing to the funds for cancer fighting! We all have different motivation for this fundraiser, and we would like to introduce a bit more about ourselves in the next section. 👋🏼 Meet our crew ~ Chloé ~ Hi there, if you’re reading this, you’re in the right direction to help us raise money for cancer research! Since a young age, I gained awareness on cancer and the devastating effects it has on people. While being a student, I experienced the loss of a classmate due to bone cancer, he was in his early 20s. In 2021, I lost a dear family member due to cancer, and it was very hard mentally. It was not the first time that someone close to me was impacted by it, although this time it hit me deeply. I felt powerless and started talking about it to understand how to make a difference. This is how the fundraiser idea came. I think that it is key to continue educating people on cancer, therefore channeling this awareness through a big event such as a skydiving is a great way to increase the reach and impact! I am super excited to be a part of it and I hope we will achieve our target! ~ Malis ~ I acknowledge with all gratitude that I have been fortunate enough not to experience any major hardships in my life and in my immediate environment so far. For this I am immensely grateful, but I am also aware that this is not true for everyone and that many people face enormous challenges beyond their control. In light of this, I feel that it is important to do what I can to support those who are facing difficulties. One way that I am currently doing this is by supporting Chloé's project to raise money for a good cause. By contributing to this project, I hope to provide additional support for people with cancer. I am aware that it is only a small gesture, but I hope that it might give a little encouragement!
