Med kärlek och tacksamhet Fredrik, 32 år gammal English translation: This year, I got married, and today I turn 32. In the spring of 2020, I was 25 years old when I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Just two years later, Josefin, my girlfriend at the time and now my wife, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. For me, it meant surgery followed by five years of follow-up appointments. There were many visits to the MRI machine, where I would lie there wearing headprotection, listening to classical music on the radio mixing with the pounding of the magnets. For Josefin, it meant two surgeries and radiation treatment with radioactive iodine tablets. For those 10 days, she was so radioactive that I had to stay with a close friend, and she had to avoid being around children and pregnant women. For both of us, there were many, many blood tests. Today, I have been declared cancer-free, and Josefin is in remission. It is a gift that we get to live, get married, and dedicate our lives to music. A gift to live in a time and a society where diseases that once would have been a death sentence can now be cured. We were lucky that we both developed certain types of cancer at stages where cures were available. A donation to the Swedish Cancer Society is a donation to cancer research, helping ensure that there are more cures and, consequently, more people who get the same chance at life and love that my wife and I have been given. That is why it would warm my heart if we could celebrate my birthday by coming together and raising some money for the Swedish Cancer Society. With love and gratitude, Fredrik, 32 years old
